Scottsdale, Arizona - An auction house specialising in collectible classic cars plans to auction the hearse used to carry the body of President John F Kennedy from a Dallas hospital to Air Force Once.

In a statement issued on Monday, Barrett-Jackson Auction Co of Scottsdale, Arizona, announced a January 21 auction of the 1964 Cadillac hearse.

O'Neal Funeral Home of Dallas used the hearse to bring a bronze casket to the hospital on November 22, 1963, the day of Kennedy's assassination, then carried the casket containing the president's body to Love Field.

Earlier this year, Barrett-Jackson auctioned the ambulance used to carry the slain president's body from Air Force One at Andrews Air Force Base to the Bethesda Naval Hospital.
